Rasism missisippi

elI wrote a diary page about the rasism in Missisippi in 1960, from a colored teegage girl's point of view. I choose this task because I really wanted to settle myself into a girl's thoughts and feeling about the rasism in Missisippi.

I'm scared. Everyone with an black skin color are. Last night the neighbor's house was in flames. The youngest died, and she where only four years old. What have my neighbors done too deserve something horrible like that? The only "crime" they ever did was beeing black. Why do they hate us because of our color? They treat us like animals. No, they treat us worse.

I have heard that two FBI agents are in town. Investigating the murder of the three civil right workers. One black and two white. Everyone knows who did it. except the FBI agents, of course. They call themselves the Ku Klux Klan. The men who kills the colored.

My mom says something will change soon. every single night we pray. We pray for change. We pray for freedom, and at last we pray for peace.

what if I can use the same toilet as white people, without getting in truble. Maby in the future I can sit at a cafe' with my white friends. What if the color of our skin didn't matter. I'm just afraid, I'm also furious. Furious at our silence. furious at the racist. I'm actully furiose at the whole world. The world refuse to see when bad things happens, It only want to see god things happen.

I need to help mom put the youngest to bed. Let's hope noe house is set on fire tonight, let everyone sleep peacefull with no worries.

God night
